Happy New Year! The holidays around ARG were buzzing with excitement as there were several busy elves wrapping up our Graceful Giving Project. 2014 was a year to remember for Graceful Giving as we served 123 families, which equals over 250 individuals! We had more people adopt families than in years past. The ARG office was overflowing with gifts!
The ARG staff cannot thank you, our donors, enough for your generosity. Because of you, our clients and their families' holidays were made much brighter. We are grateful for all of the hard work from the many volunteers we had wrapping presents until their fingers hurt and those who got a good workout in making the food baskets. Without each and every one of you who supports ARG, Graceful Giving would not be possible. Thank you again from all of us at ARG!
Graceful Giving...because no one should feel alone at the holidays
HIV/AIDS is more than a disease of the body. It brings feelings of isolation and hopelessness. It causes financial hardship and immense stress. The holidays often plunge our clients and families deep into despair. You can drive away despair with ARG's Graceful Giving. ARG's Graceful Giving provides personalized gift baskets to those living with or affected by HIV/AIDS. In addition, their household receives a food basket. Best of all, they feel hopeful and optimistic again because someone cares. You can be that someone!
You can give a Graceful Giving Basket for only $25. Thanks to other generous donors of products and services, ARG can multiply your gift into a basket worth over $135. Send your check today, with "Graceful Giving" in the memo or make a donation by clicking on the Donate button above. If you prefer, you can shop for gifts and wrap them yourself. Contact ARG to "adopt" a family or group of individuals. We will give you a wish list so you know what is most needed. The closing date for adoptions is December 5, 2014.
22nd Annual Southwestern Indiana AIDS Walk
The AIDS Resource Group hosted the 22nd Annual Southwestern Indiana AIDS Walk on September 13, 2014 at the Old Courthouse in downtown Evansville. The community joined us in support of those who are still battling HIV/AIDS and to honor those we have lost to the disease. The event featured a comprehensive health fair, NAMES Quilt panels, food by Dry Bone BBQ, games, a bounce house, raffle, silent auction and more. The top three fundraising individuals were John Streetman, Randy Lewis, and Eddie Deutsch. The top three teams were John-John's Team, Team ARG, and Wendy Turner-Frey's Team. With the help of our supporters, ARG raised almost $15,000 this year to help supplement Care Coordination, Risk Counseling, HIV Testing and Counseling, Supportive Care, and Educational programs that impact over 3,000 individuals annually in Southern Indiana. Thank you for your unwavering support!
